DESCRIPTION:To help educate voters about the issues and acquaint them with the candidates\, several community organizations are coming together on Monday\, Oct. 2\, to host a Candidates’ Forum. This will serve as Franklin Tomorrow’s monthly FrankTalks event.\n\nThe program will be held at Franklin City Hall\, 5:30-8 p.m.\, and all candidates on the ballot will be invited to participate in this event being presented by Franklin Tomorrow and other events. \nEach candidate in a contested race will be offered the chance to deliver a one-minute opening statement\, as well as a one-minute closing statement. The candidates will each answer individual questions which have been prepared by the presenting organizations\, but which are randomly selected. There will be no advance knowledge of the questions by the candidates. \nWe anticipate it will air live on Franklin TV/social media channels and replayed through those same channels.

DESCRIPTION:Franklin Tomorrow’s next quarterly Breakfast With the Mayors is set for Tuesday\, July 25\, with Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson and Franklin Mayor Dr. Ken Moore being joined by experts for a discussion on mental health and addiction in our community.  \nBreakfast With the Mayors is presented quarterly by Pinnacle Financial Partners and Gresham Smith\, along with our Sustaining Partners\, Williamson Health and Atmos Energy.  \nBreakfast With the Mayors begins at 7 a.m. with a 45-minute networking breakfast provided by Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant and coffee provided by Lyon Leadership Group\, the local operator of McDonald’s.  \nAnderson and Moore will discuss the impact of poor mental health and addiction on Williamson County. They will be joined by County Health Department Director Cathy Montgomery and Lyndsey Wilhelm of the Williamson County Anti Drug Coalition\, as well as recovery advocate Jason Wahler to discuss the launch of the new Williamson Prevention Coalition.  \nBreakfast With the Mayors is presented by our co-presenting partners\, Pinnacle Financial Partners and Gresham Smith. DESCRIPTION:Question Persuade Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Training \nJust as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year\, people trained in QPR learn how to understand mental health\, recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis\, and how to question\, persuade\, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans\, like you\, are saying “Yes” to saving the life of a friend\, colleague\, sibling\, or neighbor. Gatekeepers can be anyone\, but include parents\, friends\, neighbors\, teachers\, ministers\, doctors\, nurses\, office supervisors\, squad leaders\, foremen\, police officers\, advisors\, caseworkers\, firefighters\, and many others who are strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide. \nAs a QPR-trained Gatekeeper you will learn to: \n\nRecognize the warning signs of suicide\nKnow how to offer hope\nKnow how to get help and save a life\n\nThe class will take one hour to 1.5 hours to complete. \nWith the collaboration of Find Hope Franklin\, TSPN (Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network\, and QPR– we are able to offer this vital training and materials at no cost to you.
