Join Franklin Tomorrow on Tuesday, July 30, for the next quarterly installment of Breakfast With the Mayors, presented in partnership with Pinnacle Financial Partners and Provision CARES Proton Therapy.

Breakfast service by Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant and Community Coffee will start at 7 a.m., with the program to begin at 7:45 a.m.

Franklin Mayor Dr. Ken Moore and Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson will offer opening remarks, but our program for the day will focus on “Community Character & Williamson County’s Future.” Both the City of Franklin and Williamson County government are currently involved in updating important documents relating to the future development and design of our community.

The City of Franklin is in the public review phase of its proposed zoning ordinance update, which can be viewed at ZoneFranklin.com. The public draft of the ordinance was completed in May 2019, after a series of presentations and roundtable discussions with citizens and professionals — dubbed Planapalooza — conducted by Town Planning & Urban Design Collaborative (TPUDC). All comments on the draft zoning map and ordinance should be submitted to ZoneFranklin@franklintn.gov with “Zone Franklin Comments” in the subject line.

Williamson County government and its Planning & Zoning Department are working with consulting firm McBride Dale Clarion to update the county’s Comprehensive Plan, which is designed to “provide strategic guidance for decision making related to development, preservation, and the provision of services and public facilities.” The development of the new plan will eventually see guidelines put into place for everything from preservation to residential density.

Joining the Mayors for the July 30 presentation will be Mike Matteson, Planning & Zoning Director for Williamson County; Emily Hunter, Director of Planning & Sustainability for the City of Franklin; and Liz McLaurin, President & CEO, Land Trust for Tennessee.

Thanks to its generous partners, Breakfast with the Mayors is free to attend. Our 2019 supporters at this time include Pinnacle Financial Partners, Provision CARES Proton Therapy Nashville, Williamson County Association of Realtors, Williamson Medical Center, Patterson, Hardee, & Ballentine, Hazen and Sawyer, and Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant. Additionally, Barge Design Solutions is a partner in presenting the July 30 session.
