To celebrate its 22 years serving Franklin as a community visioning and engagement organization, Franklin Tomorrow held a “party with a purpose” on Saturday, July 30, in Jamison Hall at The Factory at Franklin.
The “22 in ’22” party had originally been planned in 2020 to celebrate 20 years, but like so many things, was delayed due to the pandemic. Thanks to the generous support of CapWealth and host of other partners, the event was held this year and drew a sellout crowd.
“The vision was to create the feel of Main Street in Franklin and working with BradyMade Events, we were able to utilize the art of several people, including Debbie Smartt and Greg Gamble, and line drawings of Main Street buildings by 906 Studio Architects to create the setting,” said Mindy Tate, CEO of Franklin Tomorrow.
Guests dined on a menu of Main Street and Franklin favorites from current and past restaurants prepared by Catering & Events by Suzette and beverages provided by Lipman Bros.
The program included the presentation of a proclamation, originally written in 2020, by Franklin Mayor Ken Moore highlighting the “essential role” Franklin Tomorrow plays in making Franklin what it is today and what it can be in the future.
A video prepared by the City of Franklin Communications Department featured several past presidents, while others spoke at the event. Founding Franklin Tomorrow Board President Julian Bibb III introduced special guest Jamie Greene, who was the consultant from Columbus, Ohio, who helped to create the original plan for Franklin Tomorrow and its framework.
Franklin Tomorrow Board Chair Patrick Baggett said while Saturday night was fun, it was also a “party with a purpose,” as Franklin Tomorrow is working to create an endowment for the future of the organization as well as to support community projects.
