A Vintage Affair, Franklin Tomorrow, Mercy Community Healthcare among those working collaboratively
Several Williamson County nonprofits are coordinating their efforts to win the $5,000 prize being awarded daily in First Tennessee Foundation’s “150 Days of Giving” campaign.
Since March 25, First Tennessee’s Foundation has been awarding the prize to the nonprofit with whom they have a pre-existing relationship with that has generated the most online votes since the start of the contest. Individuals may vote at www.150daysofgiving.com.
This week, A Vintage Affair, Franklin Tomorrow, and Mercy Community Healthcare are coordinating their efforts to focus attention on Williamson County nonprofits eligible for the prize. BrightStone is also pushing for votes this week following a successful run last week by Bridges Domestic Violence Center, which became the first local nonprofit to win the prize.
“It takes less than a minute to vote at www.150daysofgiving.com,” said Mindy Tate, Franklin Tomorrow executive director. “Individuals can vote for up to 10 nonprofits once per day on each of their electronic devices, but we are asking for specific support for A Vintage Affair, BrightStone, Franklin Tomorrow, and Mercy Community Healthcare.”
The winning nonprofit daily is the one which has generated the most cumulative votes since the contest started, Tate said, although it is important to have “get out the vote” days like those planned this week.
The contest continues through mid-August and represents a significant philanthropic effort by First Tennessee Foundation, which was founded March 25, 1864.
Individuals may vote at www.150daysofgiving.com and then type in the name of the nonprofit they wish to vote for in the search box. The name of the nonprofit pops up and individuals can click on the “vote” button. After entering a verification code, the individual receives a message their vote has been counted and they can then return and repeat the process for up to 10 nonprofits each day on each of their electronic devices.
